Prayer is religion’s pillar. Who abandons it, abandons the religion. It deters us from wickedness and indecency. It’s one of the most important acts of worship dictated by Sharia. Doing our prayers means complying with our religion and strengthen its pillars. Hence, neglecting them would be like abandoning our religion.

The actions of the prayer - rising, bowing and prostration- conclude submission and humiliation for Allah. We need to gain Allah’s satisfaction and prevent his indignation. That’s what deters us from indecency and wickedness.
Also there are heart-situated actions, like the intention and the willingness to stand before Allah. They remind us that Allah is worthy of obeying his commands and avoiding his prohibitions. Therefore, prayer came to be like the preacher that deters us from indecency and wickedness.

In summary, prayer – if well established – is the key that opens the doors of well-being and closes that of wickedness.
